Reading batch trends

A single batch's yield doesn't tell you much. The same 87% could be your best run this quarter or the start of a problem, and the only way to know is to see it next to the batches around it.

Open Batches and switch to the Trends tab.

The four metrics

Pick a product, then choose what you want to look at:

• Yield % — actual output against what the recipe expected. The default, and the one that catches most problems.
• Duration — how long each batch took, start to finish. A run creeping longer often shows here before it shows anywhere else.
• Output — the raw amount produced per batch.
• Output split — how each batch's output divided across your SKUs, as a stacked view. Useful when you pack the same product several ways and want to see the mix shifting.

Each point is a batch, in order. Select one to open that batch's record, so going from "that run looks wrong" to the actual record is one click.

Recipe versions are marked on the chart

The chart marks where each recipe version came into effect. That turns a vague question — did that reformulation help? — into something you can read directly: the line either moved after the mark or it didn't.

You can also filter to a single version, which is the fairer comparison when a recipe changed mid-history. Comparing batches across a version change can make a deliberate reformulation look like drift.

Where else trends surface

You don't have to come looking. The same data appears where the question naturally comes up:

• On the dashboard, as a yield card with a metric picker.
• On a product and on a recipe version, as a summary of how many batches have run and their median yield against expectation.
• On a batch drawer, as that batch's yield history, with a link through to this view.
