Account & Settings
Your account and signing in
How signing in to Crown works without a password, changing your display name, and reviewing the devices signed in to your account.
Your account is how Crown knows who recorded what. Every batch step, signature, and amendment carries your name, so the sign-in matters more here than in most software — it's the basis of your records being attributable.
Your own settings live under Settings in the main menu. They're yours alone; nothing here affects your teammates.
Signing in without a password
Crown has no password. When you sign in, you enter your email address and Crown sends you two ways in — a link you can click, and a six-digit code you can type. Either works; use whichever is easier on the device you're holding.
Sign-in links and codes are short-lived on purpose. If one has been sitting in your inbox for a while and doesn't work, request a new one rather than trying to troubleshoot it.
Your name
On the Profile tab, Display name is what appears beside your work everywhere in Crown — in the audit log, and beside activity your teammates see.
Set it to the name your colleagues would recognize on a record. Your sign-in email is shown here too, but changing it isn't self-service yet.
Devices signed in to your account
The Security tab lists Active sessions: every device currently signed in to your account, with the one you're using marked This device.
Select Revoke beside any session you don't recognize, or one on a device you no longer have. That session is signed out immediately.
Idle sessions sign out automatically after 30 minutes of inactivity. Real work in Crown counts as activity, so this is aimed at a tab left open on an unattended machine, not at a shift where you're recording steps. Sign out on the Profile tab ends the session on the device you're using.

What's next
Adding colleagues, and what each role can do, is covered in Inviting your team. To control which alerts reach you, see Notifications and alerts.
Frequently asked questions
What is my Crown QMS password?
You don't have one. Crown signs you in with a link and a six-digit code emailed to you each time, so there's no password to choose, forget, reuse, or have stolen. Anyone with access to your email inbox can sign in as you, which makes securing that inbox the thing that matters.
Why was I signed out?
Sessions sign out automatically after 30 minutes of inactivity. Time spent actually working in Crown counts as activity, so this affects a tab left open and forgotten, not a shift where you're recording steps.
Someone else uses my computer. How do I check nothing is signed in?
Open Settings, go to the Security tab, and look at Active sessions. It lists every device currently signed in to your account, with the one you're using marked. Revoke anything you don't recognize.
