What’s new in Crown QMS

Every update to the tenant-facing application, documented. Internal tooling and marketing changes are excluded.

v1.8.0
June 5, 2026
Added
  • Save a new receipt from the bottom of the form, right where you finish entering line items — no scrolling back to the top.
Changed
  • The new-receipt form calculates the invoice subtotal from your line items and shows it with the running total, so there's one less figure to key in.
Fixed
  • The dashboard "Finished goods" card reflects finished, sellable units at a glance — bulk volume retained after bottling is counted separately — giving an accurate headline number, per-product mix, and units-this-week.
v1.7.1
June 3, 2026
Fixed
  • On the trace view and mock-recall PDF, a manually-created lot (which has no goods-received baseline) now reads "Accountability N/A" — accountability percentages appear only where there is a received quantity to measure against.
  • The carton-label PDF prints the case size cleanly (e.g. "12 x 120ML") on thermal/black-and-white label stock.
  • The Preventive Control Plan's ingredient list totals each ingredient across stages in a single unit, so a recipe that adds the same ingredient in mixed units (e.g. kg in one stage, g in another) shows a correct, clean total — ordered descending by weight.
  • The stage-templates list is now a single sortable table — order by name, category, description, or item count — matching the sorting on the rest of the app's list pages.
v1.7.0
June 2, 2026
Added
  • Record a water (or other ingredient) substitution right from the batch's ingredient row: pick the substitute, choose its lot, and a bottled-water swap is logged to your Water Safety program in real time — with the lot codes you selected — and kept in step as you adjust lots. One place to do it, no duplicate entry.
Fixed
  • Substituting an ingredient on a batch now lists every eligible same-unit substitute (e.g. bottled water for in-house RO water during maintenance), so you can complete the swap and record its lot codes.
  • Adding a lot whose code already exists — common when restocking a lot that migrated in at zero on-hand — now offers to add your quantity to that existing lot (recorded as a Correction adjustment) instead of dead-ending on a "lot already exists" error.
  • The completed Quick Batch summary reads as a faithful production record: every ingredient and the lot(s) it used shown by name and code (including a lot the batch drew down to zero), each substituted-in ingredient carrying its original recipe target with a "substituted from" note (e.g. bottled water carries the in-house RO water target), and the add-ingredient badge counting only genuine off-recipe additions.
v1.6.1
June 1, 2026
Fixed
  • Clearer confirmation when an action completes — recording lab results, editing a recipe (reordering stages or items, adding items, renaming, notes), duplicating QC specs and stage templates, drawing on the facility layout, and filing the annual water report now give clear confirmation or guidance so you always know an entry went through; trace search also distinguishes a temporary lookup worth retrying from a code that genuinely isn't on file
  • Greater precision across production data — the exact out-of-range value you enter is carried into each CCP deviation, water-treatment TDS quick-entry saves smoothly, stage-template check-ins support a maximum-only cadence, recipe ingredient totals account for mixed units when combining quantities, and figures across Quick Batch, inventory, dashboards, pickers and PDFs display as clean, rounded values
  • Inventory and low-stock precision — ingredient lot expiry counts calendar days for time-zone-accurate countdowns, an ingredient's reorder-point unit is a dropdown scoped to its measurement type to keep low-stock alerts on target, and Compliance Health badges reflect the full count of expiring evidence and SDS at a glance
  • Recipe, hazard and CCP handling — duplicating a recipe carries over each measurement's ingredient-dependent CCP link, bulk-confirming hazards covers dismissed and PRP-controlled hazards alongside those with a preventive control, and deleting a hazard or a stage's PRP dispatch now prompts for confirmation
  • Documents and reports — the mock-recall PDF and trace view present the supplier lot code once under a single label, and the batch record slip PDF fits its page cleanly with the footer anchored at the bottom
  • Onboarding, lists and copy — the setup-guide checklist marks your first ingredient, recipe and batch complete as you add them; the facility equipment, equipment-type, test-method and traffic-flow lists support column sorting like the rest of the app; and the facility setup wizard describes how it auto-arranges your existing zones, equipment and containers on the canvas
v1.6.0
May 30, 2026
Added
  • Quick Batches now autosave your progress and resume where you left off — including on another device
  • Batch completion accepts whatever output you can measure — packaged units, an amount left in bulk, or a measured total yield (bulk volume is no longer required) — and itemizes any yield loss against a measured total
  • Bulk left over from a batch is saved as a finished-goods lot you can package into units later, from Inventory → Finished Goods
Fixed
  • Batch completion errors now appear next to the Complete button instead of at the top of a long form, so a blocked completion is easy to spot
v1.5.0
May 29, 2026
Added
  • Carton label settings — in Admin → Company you can now choose your label stock size, the best-before date format, and which optional rows (case weight, HS tariff code) print, with a live preview that uses your brand logo
Changed
  • Carton labels now default to 4" W × 3" H (previously 4" × 6"); you can change the size anytime in the new carton-label settings
v1.4.1
May 29, 2026
Fixed
  • A failed receiving inspection now automatically places the affected lot on hold, so flagged material can't be used in production until the hold is cleared
  • Critical control points are enforced consistently everywhere: a measurement can't be completed without a recorded value, Quick Batch requires a reading for every CCP, and an out-of-range CCP always raises a deviation
  • Lot expiry now defaults from the ingredient's shelf life when left blank at receiving, and an ingredient's storage temperature and instructions appear on the receiving line and in lot details
v1.4.0
May 28, 2026
Fixed
  • Overdue check-in warnings — on the dashboard "needs attention" strip and on a batch's wait/hold step — now clear as soon as you log the due check-in. They measure how far behind you are from your last recorded check-in against the schedule's cadence, instead of counting down missed intervals one at a time. Past-due check-ins that were never recorded are now labelled "Missed" on the batch view, and completed holds no longer raise a warning.
v1.3.0
May 28, 2026
Added
  • A Help center with step-by-step guides, linked from your account menu and the mobile navigation
  • Quick Batch can now record multiple lots for a single ingredient, with a running total against the recipe target
  • Customer complaints can now be tied to a finished-goods lot, labelled by type, flagged for illness or injury, given photo and document attachments, and traced in one click
Fixed
  • Lots on hold can no longer be selected when recording a batch — release the hold first — and releasing a hold now requires a reason
  • Ingredient quantities can no longer be entered as negative values when recording a batch
  • In-house utility ingredients (such as on-site RO water) no longer block batch completion with "No lots available" — record the quantity used directly
  • Open customer complaints can now be marked as resolved from the complaint detail
v1.2.0
May 26, 2026
Added
  • The dashboard now shows a "needs attention" strip beneath the active-batch bar, flagging any other in-progress batches with an overdue action — an overdue punch-down or check-in, or a hold past its window — so missed monitoring is visible at a glance instead of buried inside each batch.
Fixed
  • The dashboard Alerts card now stretches to the same height as the other summary cards in its row.
  • Each item in the dashboard "Pending actions" card now opens the thing it refers to — a deviation opens its detail page, a pending lab test opens on its batch, a calibration opens the equipment list. Removed the catch-all "View all" link that always went to the quality page regardless of item type.
v1.1.0
May 26, 2026
Added
  • Recipe steps marked optional (tasks that aren't "must complete", checks that aren't "required") can now be skipped while running a batch, so they no longer hold up a stage from finishing.
  • Tasks set to require a photo now must have one attached before they can be marked done. On a phone or tablet you can snap the photo with the camera right from the production floor; on desktop you attach a file as usual.
v1.0.1
May 25, 2026
Fixed
  • Lot-code formats that include a batch letter now produce complete codes — the batch-of-day letter (A, B, C…) fills in automatically for each batch of a product (previously left blank), covering presets like Julian Date and Date + Batch Letter
  • Ingredient and finished-goods quantities now display as clean, rounded values (e.g. 201.43 g) instead of long trailing decimals — across the production floor, traceability, receiving, and lab screens
